Dirty socks

I don't have any idea what to write about, so whatever comes onto this page is what stays on it. This is my third or fourth try on this blog. I'll pick a title when I'm done with it.

One thing that I do happen to be thinking of is laundry and God. How are they related? Well, in my case (as well as my two lovely roommates), they are very closely related. Picture this: three girls ages 17, 18, and 19, first time at college and living entirely on their own several hours from the comforts and luxuries of home. That would be the three of us (and most of the girls in our dorm). We have been learning week by week just how difficult it can be to be on our own, buying our own fuel (food - who's idea was it to have supper at 4:30 in the afternoon anyway????), more fuel (coffee - how else do you think we make it through the day?), and more fuel (money - the stuff that GETS us our fuel!). Not to mention doing our own laundry, keeping house (or dorm room...close enough), and cooking (4:30 is way too early for supper time...). But laundry seems to be the biggest thing for us. God has really been showing me something through our laundry. What in the world could He teach me through laundry? Simple: He cares about about the little things in our lives. Every time I've done the laundry, I get to the last load and run out of quarters. The last quarter goes in on the last load of laundry. Every time. And I have decided that if God is going to take care of such a small thing as enough quarters to wash my clothes, He is going to take care of things like my time (of which I have very little that isn't filled), my stress (of which I have MUCH), and my life (which totally belongs to Him and Him alone).

God cares about everything, from dirty socks to a blog for English Comp to your next school bill and the lack of money in your bank account. So trust Him. Have faith that He will be there to take care of you. And know that He will make it all work out in the end.
